Elder Larson ~ Texas to Argentina

Que onda che? How have yall been doing? We keep moving forward out here in Independencia! Que onda is my favorite phrase in all of Spanish haha, its like "whats your vibe?" You could say "tenés una buena onda" or "you have a good vibe" or if you are feeling grateful, in your prayers, you could throw in "gracias por la buena onda" thanks for the good vibe. Add that to the spanish vocab, very useful word. Big news tho, Carlos and Claudia are going to be getting married soon, they got the first set of papers done, hallelujah! I have never made it this far before with a wedding baptism haha, whoever invented the system to get married in Argentina should get shot in the foot, most difficult process ever. Fabiana and the kids also threw a surprise party for Elder Houston, it was way fun. I love that family haha. I was supposed to go get an MRI scan for my wrist on Thursday, but the lady that does them did not show up for work. They are so lazy out here...

Buen día a todos! Espero que hayan sido super felices esta semana! This week was crazy haha, we probably biked 200 kilometers, just the price you have to pay to get the good word to the people! The absolute most important thing this week was the baptism of Aylen!! It was an awesome baptism! We had a lot more members come support this week, and everything went super well! She is awesome, now we just have to get her mom, Fabiana! The second most important thing: the guy who robbed us with his gun, wanted to do a trade this week. He knocked our door, we all went down and opened it, he asked for money, as he does, then all 3 of the other elders dipped to go get money, left me down there alone with this guy, (who has a knife in his hand now), and he asked me gesturing at his knife if I was gonna give him 500 pesos too, I laughed at him and said no hahaha. Could it have been dangerous? Yeah. Am i way too stubborn to give this bum money? Absolutely. The other elders got him the money he wante...

Whats up yall?? Its been a rough week here in Democracia haha! Not like I am sad or anything, just it is so hard to work with Argentinians:/ They are so lazy. We were able to get a lot of work done tho! Couple of crazy things: there was a 6.7 earthquake in Jujuy, right next to Salta, that was cool. I also crashed on my bike, and I think my wrist is broken haha, no way I am going to an Argentinian doctor either way. Caught one of our friends breakdancing in his garage haha, that was pretty funny. We had no idea he was like that. Boca won in penalties as well, we passed by a members and got to watch the end haha! Soccer is everything here. The ward leadership is pretty low quality out here. They dogged on us for an hour in ward council yesterday, because the recent converts arent coming to church, but they actually are all going to church, they just dont know who they are. Its too much work for them to get to know our friends, or go to their baptism, its so tough to work with them someti...

Whats up yall? Hows it goin?? Hope yall are well! Everything is going well out here in democracia. It gets scarier and scarier every day out here haha, thats chill tho. We have been having a ton of success out here!! Time is flying. Our buddy Mono, our neighbor that robs us, told us he needed some money to go to Buenos Aires, and my comp gave him some money, but he used it to buy a gun, then robbed us with his new gun a day later. Tough luck. If i die yall know who did it. We had all of our 3 baptisms go through this week! A couple of tiny miracles carried us, but it we made it! It was so awesome, our buddy John said "ese bautismo fue genial!!" Right after he got dunked, what a goat. That means like "that baptism was incredíble!!" I was dead! We had to give a training in mission conference yesterday, our topic was "the low hanging fruit", or the People that are easiest to teach and baptize (aka the kids) haha. Whats up yall?? Hope that everything is all good! This week has been really good! We unfortunately had all 3 of our baptisms fall through this week, but we reprogrammed all of them, they are all still really solid! Not a whole lot of crazy stuff went down this week, to be honest kind of boring.. A couple of cool things! One of our ward missionaries, got his mission call this week! He is going to Brazil! He is a stud, he is the guy that baptized his mom and grandma last week! What a beast! Our guy David couldnt get baptized cuz it turns out he is on probation, so we set his new baptismal date for August 23, 2023. Which is when he gets off probation. Unfortunately I will no longer be a missionary. Tough luck. We went and played some golf on p day, that was way hype! I am way rusty, but making improvement fs no se preocupe.
