This week on mission quad drama

What's happening everybody?

I made it out to Texas (finally) and let's just say that this place is pretty crazy. I am in a super poor area called "Avondale". Nah I'm just playin it's actually insane how rich everybody is out here, it doesn't even make sense how consistently huge every house is out here. The members of the church out here are all great people and they really do their best to try and feed us. We really are well taken care of.

Unfortunately as I am in an extremely rich area, the work is extremely slow. We have a new member that we can teach lessons to, and that's about it. We teach lessons to some people from Columbia and South America, but there hasn't been much fruit so far. Covid makes it nigh impossible to find new investigators unfortunately, facebook proselyting is kind of a joke, we set up a video introducing ourselves to our areas facebook group and didn't get a single like on it lol.

I am living in probably one of the sickest apartments in the whole mission right now. We have a pool table, foosball, shuffleboard, a Starbucks machine, a pool, a full gym, and a cinema room. That's just the start as well I could go on forever. I live in a quad with another companionship and they are all the best honestly. My companion, elder thurgood is kinda a wee bit contentious though.

Let's just say that God wasted no time in testing my patience with my companion lol. I love him no matter how annoying he can be lol. So Elder John is the district leader, and he's in the other companionship. He's 20 months out and has differing views fromThurgood, nbd right? False Thurgood always finds a way to turn it into a full blown argument and then tries to play victim. I had to talk him out of writing a letter the president tryna get us moved or transferred. There is a lot of contention within everyone in the apt, but I'm homies with all of them and tryna hold it all together in lol.

We have had a bunch of service opportunities this week, thank goodness because we kinda have nothing else to do. Nothing to get over home sickness like some good old fashioned back breaking labor. Lemme just say that the texas clay out here is just about as tough as rock. Seriously the hardest digging I've ever had to do. I am seriously enjoying it out here though and am already making lots of friends and getting tons of gains out here.

Favorite story from the week was when we had dinner with the Poist's, first off the food was amazing and their house was crazy. But all of their kids were kinda shy and not talking until they asked me about pokemon, and then you couldn't get them to stop talking about it lol. My comp probably hated it, because he was talking w the adults, but I seriously enjoyed discussing pokemon with a bunch of elementary school kids for an hour hahaha I need to grow up. The Poists are the best, Sister Poist is always trying to feed us even when no one signs up.

Not a whole ton of interesting stories from out here this week, but I would love to hear from y'all. Please don't bring up the Broncos game though. I love yall and make sure you go and have a good week
