Awww shoot, here we go again
Whats going on everybody?? How have yall been? I literally have so much to talk about this week haha, first real week in Argentina!! Its been a real tough change not even gonna lie, I miss the TFWM like crazy!
In reference to the title, my current situation is incredibly similar to my situation when I first started my mission. My comp is literally Argentinian Elder Thurgood haha, but fortunately i have become just about the most patient person in the world during my mission haha. We are also locked down like crazy, the moment we step out of our apartment we have to wear a mask, if you dont you could get arrested. Its actually crazy. We spent the whole week inside doing calls, which was a really difficult adjustment for me. Saturday for the first time in my life the thought crossed my mind, I might have depression hahaha. We are all good tho, no depression here.
The Spanish is going good, I'm learning super fast out here. I just need to get the confidence to talk to people haha. Concepcion is one of the prettiest cites i have ever seen to be honest, but its still super poor and sketchy, so we dont have any pictures cuz we arent allowed to bring the phone outside of the apartment:(.
Our area is kind of crazy. From what I have pieced together it is about 1/2 the size of the TFWM. We have 6 branches, the entire district to ourselves, which is honestly kind of a struggle, ive only met one of our investigators in person. We are also about an hour and 45 minutes away from the closest missionaries(by car) so we are really just alone out here.
To be honest tho I havent seen anything that is going to kill me yet, so I am gonna finish out this mission strong baby💪💪. To be honest the hardest part is just being in this tiny apartment all day. Alone. We got to go out and walk around for the first time on Saturday, I have never been so excited just to be outside. When i get home im gonna get super big into hiking cuz man, that was some exciting stuff.
Ive learned a lot about myself this week.
1. Ab exercises and the constant stomache ache of living in a third world country do not mix well.
2. Elder Pace was right when he said native companions are very difficult
3. 6'2" is really freaking tall in Argentina haha, cant even tell you how many times ive smacked my head on stuff
4. Missions in the United States are literally just a 2 year vacation hahaha
5. Comp study is just Elder Campos time to chastise me haha, got a 30 minute lashing for messaging people from my last mission bruh.
I wanna end with a story lol. Last night after a long week of grinding, i was exhausted and ready to go to bed. We say comp prayer, i turn off the lights, this dude grabs the phone, turns on the flash light, points it at me while im tryna catch some zs, and then procedes to eat a whole bag of sunflower seeds. I am not even exaggerating. And before you ask, no he is not a quiet chewer. The audacity of this guy.
Anyways I dont really wanna take too much of yalls time, just keep me in your prayers for sure, this has been a pretty difficult adjustment for sure. But when I really think about it, the pioneers will always have it way rougher than i do haha. Oh and btw if you are basically anyone but family, i can only talk with you through email now, just a heads up. So yall should definitely send me some emails (Justin.larson@missionary.org)! I love and miss yall a ton!
Love yourz
Elder Larson
Ngl this was not the most delicious meal ive ever had
Our church building is super dope actually
Gotta love member lessons through the phone
I gotta have one of the best sleeping setups in the mission
What a beautiful view from our apartment

That pen in my pocket ran out of ink this week, im upset.
This random homie pulled up on a motorcycle, i thought for sure we were getting robbed. He just wanted a picture, and we are actually teaching him now so that’s hype
