Ya me vui
Whats up yall? How have ya been? Kinda a crazy week this week haha. Mom, in reference to the title, that wont translate very well, thats slang from Tucuman, "I am already gone". I think its a mix of me fui and me voy, "i went" and "i am going". People in Tucuman dont have time to diferentiate the two, so they just combined the two words haha. Oh they do have time on their hands, they just use it to sleep and drink alcohol haha!
Anyways, cultural rundown and lesson on Tucumano basico aside, I am leaving Concepción! I never thought this day would come, I am very sad about it. I was really close with the 20 active members that we had. I am super grateful for my time in Concepcion, really grateful for all the lessons I had to learn out there, and all the wonderful(and less wonderful people) that I met! I left from concepcion at about 1:45 this morning, I am gonna be getting to Salta at 9, where I will be comps with Elder Jake Houston. I am beyond stoked for that!
Which reminds me. I got cat called the other day haha. Sundays can be crazy. We walk around and everyone is drunk, they see a sharply dressed white guy and they lose their mind. One of these people we ran into yesterday, saw me and like stumbled, it was weird and creepy haha. We walked passed and I look back, this guys takin a nice double take, then called out a couple words that I cant quite put in this weekly. I replied back with few not so nice words of my own, probably not the best way to start a Sunday morning, but what do ya do haha! Nothing better than being a white guy in Tucuman haha.
I completely do not recommend that anyone gets a covid vaccine in a third world country. Got my booster shot this week, not a fun experience at all, I got the Astrocena one, or something like that idk, it was pretty sketchy. If you wanna look up the details on that one, please do, just dont let me know haha, cuz ignorance is bliss.
We did exchanges with the Elders in Alberdi, that was hype! Bunch of studs! We did some street contacting, for the first time in 6 months haha. I was rusty, but it went really well! We taught a guy the restoration, and it was way hype! And he had an ice cream shop, and hooked us up with some free ice cream! I also got back in contact with the people I taught in Alberdi when I first got here, its kinda like my time in Concepcion went full circle.
I tallied up 4 sleepless nights this week, from sleeping on the floor to almost dying from a covid vaccine to transfers, wasnt much rest for Elder Larson. Sacrifices that I had to make this week. It wasnt easy, the sacrifices all of us make as missionaries arent easy. But I have been able to see the great blessings and miracles that come from personal sacrifice. I loved what Diechter F. Uchtdorf said yesterday "The Lord knows that we have physical needs, but still commands us to seek "spiritual treasures first". I know that the Lord recognizes and blesses us for even the littlest sacrifices we make to become a little bit more like Him each day.
Absolutely crazy week, wish I could share all of it with yall! Hope that everybody is doing well, that you enjoyed conference, and learned the importance of missionary work from it! I learned so much from it, super grateful for the prophets and apostles that guide this church! Have a good week yall!!
Love yourz
Elder Larson
